Kumaran founded Halo Dogs in North London in 2009. He got the idea to start a dog day care centre when he was working as a part-time "re-homer" at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.〔

The facility contains play and agility equipment, splash pools, fallen logs, play kennels, lakes, colour televisions, outdoor and indoor play areas and chill-out facilities. The centre also has a "time-out" area for temporarily separating dogs that demonstrate inappropriate behaviour.〔
